The creative team behind Netflix“Ghoul” is back this year with a whole new series of zombies “BetaalÂ», Centered on Indian folklore and featuring a local cast of stars. Blumhouse Television is teaming up with SK Global Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment to present this horror-thriller series.
“The story takes place in a remote village, which quickly becomes the arena of a breathtaking battle when a two-century-old East India Company colonel infected with the Betaaland his battalion of bloodthirsty zombie red tunics are freed from their graves – attacking anything with a pulse. With Counter Insurgency Police Department (CIPD) forces pitted against the army of the living dead, hapless civilians are trapped in a gripping conflict on the edge of your headquarters.
“Betaal” debuts on May 24, and the official trailer was released today. It is full of gripping and terrifying zombie images imbued with a unique perspective and setting. Between âKingdomâ and now this brand new series, it looks like Netflix is ââcommitted to growing the zombie subgenre and bringing the dead back to life all over the world. And it’s precisely this cultural diversity that makes their original zombie content so fresh.
