After “Kingdom” and “Hellbound” took the world by storm, another Korean zombie apocalypse series, “All of Us Are Dead,” will hit Netflix on January 28, the streaming giant announced Friday.
Based on Joo Dong-geun’s popular webcomic titled “Now at Our School,” “We’re All Dead” centers on high school students who are trapped in a school during a zombie apocalypse. The trapped students must fight their way out of the virus-infested school or they too will turn into zombies.
Ahead of the release, Netflix released its trailer to give a glimpse of the school’s campus being overrun by zombies and the bloody battle between the students turned zombies and the survivors, who are desperate to escape.
It is directed by Lee Jae-kyoo, who directed hit TV series such as ‘Damo’ (2003) and ‘Beethoven Virus’ (2008) as well as movies like ‘The Fatal Encounter’ (2014) and ‘Intimate Stranger ” (2018).
The highly anticipated series features rising stars including “House of Hummingbird” actress Park Ji-hu and “Doctor John” actor Yoon Chan-young. “Hospital Playlist” star Cho Yi-hyun and “Squid Game” star Lee You-mi will also appear in undisclosed roles.
