The free Family Fun Night Halloween event at the Warren YMCA included a costume contest, trick or treat, games and a zombie zone.
“It’s great to bring the community together – to see all the kids in their costumes,” said Andrew Papalia, Youth and Family Sports Coordinator. “It’s just about bringing joy to the community.”
Hundreds of young people passed through the treat zone.
“Our candy vendors are all agencies and community businesses,” Erin Wallace, wellness coordinator for All Health, said.
“Thank you to all the vendors, volunteers and YMCA staff,” Papalia said. “Without them, it wouldn’t be possible.”
He also gave special thanks to the Beaty-Warren Middle School Builders Club.
At the end of the evening, the judges presented prizes to the winners of the pumpkin decorating contest and the costume contest.
“It’s great this year” Papalia said. “We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout. We will continue to build it.
